Emergency Information

Gastrointestinal Associates, Inc. has a physician on call 24 hours a day, however if you are faced with an emergency you should seek immediate care. Our physicians are on staff at Abington Memorial Hospital and Holy Redeemer Hospital. If your primary physician instructs you to go to either of these hospitals and a gastrointestinal consultation is indicated we will be notified by the emergency room physicians.

There is, currently, a high demand for gastrointestinal care. When patients cancel their appointments at the last minute or fail to show up for their appointments, it contributes to the problem by preventing other patients from being seen in a timely fashion. In order to help stem this problem, therefore, starting July 5, 2002, we will institute a charge of $25 for canceled or missed appointments without 24 - hours notice.
